Kirk N. Matteson
Managing Member & Investment Advisor Representative
How do I add value for my clients? By listening to my clients and understanding their wants, fears, and needs. By helping them see what is possible and what to avoid. By sharing the understanding that long-term success and happiness is actually a product of a positive outlook.
When it comes to finances, my job is to align my clients’ actions with their intentions.
As a fourth-generation Oregonian, I learned my work ethic on the family farm. I grew up witnessing hard work, and I participated in that hard work at an early age. I graduated from Southern Oregon University, majoring in accounting, with a minor in philosophy. Even while practicing as a Certified Public Accountant and working in a West Coast regional firm, the philosophy minor was as necessary to my success as any university business class, and its importance continues today. As a CPA, I assisted clients with tax planning and business-management issues of all kinds. In 2004, I shifted my career to financial counseling and advising. I maintain my CPA certificate and my Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designations.
My present sports interests are tennis and white-water boating. For relaxation, I play guitar, harmonica, and sing, but not all at the same time.
